Problems And Needs Analysis

(1)The present MSc curricula of Geology, Civil Engineering and Soils and Water departments and South Valley universities suffer from: Sohag University

1. A complete absence of Applied Environmental Geosciences educational programs and research to pay attention to earth resources, pollution, natural hazards and risk assessment.

2. Lack of the awareness to pay attention to the water resources exploration, exploitation and management (water quantity and quality), contamination of ground and surface water, soil and air by biological and chemical hazards with its implication for both health and economic.

3. Not sufficient practical and experimental training and fieldwork applications and experiences of the graduate students in the field of environmental geosciences and water resources management. Accordingly, there are no professionals and experts in these subject areas
